Party Time

Thank the Lord, we are all over the dreaded stomach bug! It was pretty nasty around here this last week. I'm glad it is all out of our system and hopefully we will come down with nothing more before we leave for China.

The children went to my nephews birthday party two weekends ago. It was a bowling party and they seemed to have a blast. Twink had a great time but could not understand why she could not keep rolling the ball down the ally. Why did she have to take turns! LOL She bowled three frames and had enough. Here are some pictures of her on her first two shots.

Picking out a ball

Isn't there a golfer with this approach?
So proud! (it took forever for the ball to reach the pins!) ;)

Jewel was a huge help when Twink actually played. As she helped Twink.

Dash trying to get a spare.

Spitfire was in the lead for a long time.

Last but not least this was my sweet rambunctious nephew who turned 6!

Babies!

Over the weekend we went to visit my sister and my niece. Look how much she has grown! Is she just not the happiest baby from just getting her nap cut in half. Her mommy woke her up way too early so we could see her. Not to mention take a couple of cute pictures. I'm thinking she is going to have red hair like her mom and hazel eyes (a mix of mom and dad). They could still turn brown but we will see.

After we visited with my sister we went over to my IL's to visit. My SIL and BIL were in town and we were going to meet the newest family member. He is the sweetest little guy. Twink was very interested in watching him lay on the ground. She would not touch him but she loved to look at him. She found it interesting when he had his diaper changed.

So you know your past the baby stage when all you really care to do is hold them and have no longing to have one of your own! That's me! :) I'm even past the toddler stage. LOL

Oh and go check out Bebos blog for an update! ;)

Life is BUSY!

Wow, are we busy people! LOL First of all our children have been sick off and on for the last week. Twink of course the worst. She has had a fever now since Friday. Thank the good Lord that her medication to prevent seizures actually works. She has been as high as 102.5 and that would usually send her into a seizure. That tells us her medication is working. Doctor said her ear is red but she has been on her medication now for 24 hrs. and it does not seem to be helping the fever.

An update with our adoption. We have now been waiting 30+ days for our LOA. It honestly does not feel like that long. I'm sure as the time goes on it will start to feel longer. We are busy with our sign language class. It is very intense but we are learning many signs. For those of you who would like to build your vocabulary we have found a great DVD called Sign Language for Everyone by Dr. Cathy Rice. Now I must tell you that it is an older DVD but it is a great way to learn quite a bit of sign language. We are also adding another sign language class to our schedules LOL! This one will be less intense but will be at the new church we go to. Not only a great way to get involved but also to meet some new people.

Jewel is finishing up field hockey for the year. Next week is her last game. I must brag and say she has turned into one fine field hockey player! :) Her team has a new coach this year and the girls have yet to win a game. Jewel in fact is the only one to have made a goal all season so far.

Spitfire will finish up soccer later this month. Her attention span has really increased since the summer. She really loves to play. She will play again in the spring. Dash may be playing basketball this winter but he is still up in the air about it.

As for Twink, what can I say? She is going to school and loving it. They work her hard and she comes home very tired. She has gained a lot in the two months that she attended her new school.

I am looking forward to November when we are only running two nights a week instead of three to four. I'm not sure how other families do it. I'm just glad we don't have to! LOL

Last Weekend

I don't think I've had this many pictures or blog posts in one week in a long time. I thought I'd get the rest of these pictures up before more time passed.
This is my brother in law with Twink. She was loving on him and he her after they finished looking at the clouds. He was the reason we were able to get the group shot of the children because she was NOT going for it!

There was a ton more of this! This was actually Spitfires stash. People were actually aiming for her pile. LOL

I can't promise I'll have this many pictures again in one week. We are going on vacation to see some of our favorite people soon but I won't post those pictures until we return. Your sure to LOVE those pictures! ;)

Fun Weekend

We had such a busy weekend but was so much fun. We have family in from out of state so we were able to enjoy their company this weekend. All of our children are around the same age. The only time I was not pregnant with my SIL was with her oldest and my youngest (Twink). We either were pregnant together or ended up pregnant soon after one had their baby. I must tell you the same thing has happened with Bebo. :) Are families are expecting. Their family will receive their bundle of joy before we will. Could you all keep them in your prayers. She has developed a complication with her pregnancy and I'm sure would appreciate all the prayers they could receive.

Here are some posed pictures from the weekend. I'll post some of the candid ones later this week.

Twink did not want to be in this picture but with the help of her uncle we were able to snap this picture! :) Great job Uncle Mark!

Are these girls not beautiful! My niece is an amazing young woman! I wish I had a video to show you. On Sunday in church she signed and sang to the beautiful song. I wish you could have seen her. There is so much joy and emotion in her when I've seen her do this. God has gifted her with such a beautiful talent and I am so proud of her.

She's Here!

After years of infertility, over 24 hrs of labor and a c-section Special K arrived June 21st (Father's Day!) weighing 9lbs 8oz and 21inches long! My niece is here!
My sister went into early labor Friday and was able to stick it out at home until 10:30pm. She called me to let me know that she and her husband were heading up to the hospital. I waited about an hour and headed up. She was only dilated 2cm and was the story until till about 4pm the next day. The baby was positioned wrong (was head down but facing the wrong direction) and causing major back labor. She was able to receive an epidural at 2cm and they started pitocin even though she was having regular contractions. They wanted them stronger and closer together. About 8pm I decided I was going to go home as we thought it was going to be awhile. I was not home 5 minutes and received a phone call telling me she was 10cm. I decided I was going to stay home as I had a terrible migraine. Turns out she ended up trying to push for 45 minutes and then they decided to do a c-section. She said things (meaning she) got ugly! LOL She ended up in her room around 3:30am. I know she is tried and sore. Both are doing very well.

I'll tell you one thing, this baby is a chunker! She has some major rolls. LOL I think she looks a lot like Spitfire when she was a baby. I must tell you that Spitfire looked just like my sister when my sister was a baby. Oh I could just nibble on those cheeks!

What A Week!

I must say that I am glad that last week is over! I don’t think I’ve been that busy since our trip to China. LOL Between doctor appointments, house hunting for our pastor to be, friends and family in town (sad to see them leave) we were some busy people.

I believe I’ve already updated you all on Twink’s appointments so there is no need to repeat myself. She is going in on the 22nd to have her ears drained and possibly have tubes put in. She will also have her sedated hearing test at that time. I’m thinking of asking to have the blood work drawn to see if she is at risk for more stokes while she is sedated. I’m praying this is the last time she’ll have to be sedated.

Twink only had one therapy last week and it gave her a much needed break. We have seen some huge break throughs with her this week. She is giving kisses when asked and also free will, she is stepping over things, she is using her right arm more and more to stabilize things, she is crawling with both arms, she is SPEAKING boo, uh-oh, ding-dong (ing-ong) and her favorite ga-ga. I’ve noticed a pattern also with her behavior. She gets very upset if we do not get her food or drink fast enough, during bath, and during changing time but that is up and down. Oh lets not forget if I tell her no and she REALLY wants it. I think we have had a really great week!

The Counts sister and brother both came from out of state with their families for a visit. We were lucky enough to spend two days with them. The kids had so much fun together and it’s always hard for my kids to say good bye to their cousins.

On Sunday we had Twink dedicated at church by our very special friend who moved to Florida last November. He was up officiating a wedding and agreed to do Twink’s dedication. He and his family are extremely special to us and we miss them immensely. We were lucky enough to have them over for dinner Sunday evening. Our children love to play together but hate to say good-bye as do we!

This week is much quieter other than I drove the kids down to our church camp for the day on Monday. It was a day filled with fun activities for the kids
