Protect Your Blog

I don't blog everyday or every other day but when I do blog it is important to me! Many of you blog everyday. Do you back up your blog? Do you have protection in case you accidental delete your blog? I did not and now I am out a years worth of pictures, encouraging comments, and memories!

Not only was my blog for my family to look back on but it was also to help people who have adopted children who have cerebral palsy, hemipaligia, seizures or arachnoid brain cysts. I'm not much of a writer but when I received e-mails that told me that this blog made a difference than it makes me sad to know it's all gone! :(

SO, protect yourselves! There are different ways to do this. I have no time and wanted something very easy so I decided to go with this site . It is free up to 50 mb storage and then you pay $4.17 per month ($49.95 per year) and that includes - Restore your blog, Backup images linked from blog, 250MB of storage. They also have one for $8.30 per month ($99.95 per year) includes everything list above except it has 1GB of storage. You can always Google to find other ways to back up your blog. Don't be sorry like I am.

I'm A Moron!

So I was deleting Twink's private blog because I do not blog there, only I deleted the wrong blog! I can not believe I did that! A year of blogging GONE! I can not tell you how sad I am. :(

Cuddle Bugs

After church yesterday all the kids had to have some down time. After about thirty minutes I was awakened by my husband running and then I heard the shutter going off on my camera. I knew he was taking a picture of Spitfire and I didn't hear any protests from her so I knew she was asleep. When he handed me the camera to show me what he captured I could see why he was running. Spitfire and Tabby Cat were all cuddled up next to each other arm and arm asleep (well the cat popped an eye open to see what the racket was about). Spitfire LOVES this cat! The cat puts up with so much from her and we put up with so much from the cat! ;) He not too sure about Lia though! LOL

Please Pray For Zach

This is my friend Jodi's son Zach. We have been friends since 1st grade and her son really needs our prayers. Zachary underwent a 6 hour surgery yesterday to place a telescopic rod in his femur & tibia. While they were in there they also did biopsies of the tumors on the bone, a bone graft on the femur and biopsies on the skin. You see Zach has a couple rare syndromes, Goldenhar Syndrome and Jaffe Campanacci Syndrome. I believe that Boston may have actually given him one more after many tests but I am unsure. This is their blog if you'd like to keep up on their progress. Jodi has added his hospital address so if you'd like to send Zachary a get well card I'm sure he'd LOVE it! :) The address is on her blog under Feb 4th's update. Thanks friend!

Home Project

Lately I've been wanting to hang some pictures up from our trip to China. Now I would claim them as mine but you see we had an awesome photographer in our travel group. So Carla was ever so nice to share her photo's with me! ;) I see that I forgot to finish centering the pictures. LOL I'm not done with the book case. I'd like to do some thing more but not sure what. The embroidery that is hanging is of the Yi Minority. If you could see the fine needle point you'd been impressed. This piece is 150 years old. Having finished this wall has really made our family room pop.

Below is a chart of sorts with pictures we can pull off. We are trying to use this with Twink. It is suppose to help her tell us what she wants without the frustration. It is also to help her transition into some thing without tantrums. Only thing is, she totally understands us but the pictures help reinforce what is about to happen. It is our hope that she will begin to pull these off and bring them to us when she is hungry or needs to be changed. We will see how well it works.

Her hearing test went as well as I thought it would! LOL The child wanted nothing to do with it. She has pressure in her ears again. I'm thinking it is wax build up as they could not see her ear drum. So we have a solution we have to put in her ears to help reduce the wax. We will return in a couple of months and see how things look. Otherwise all is well. :)

Good News

I did not herniate the disc below where I had a surgical plate placed in my neck! Bad news is we are not real sure what is cause the pain I am experiencing. I have to have a couple of tests run but until then I'm to lay low. LOL Try doing that with two toddlers. The doctor is actually thinking it might be nerve pain. The disc is actually one that is bulging but has not changed conditions.

We tried a new church this past Sunday and loved it! It felt good all the way around. The drive is a bit especially in the winter but we will manage. I've been working on a few projects around the house. Nothing major but it really made our living room pop. I'll sharing some pictures with you later. I'm off to take Twink's to her yearly hearing test! That should be fun.

Autisim Test Results

We had an appointment for Twink today that I thought going in was a joke but was doing it anyway. When we first brought Twink home her developmental doctor was concerned she might be autistic. For awhile she did look autistic but I knew that very well could have been from China. Well ever month Twink would improve and the doctor asked if I would do the test. At four months home we were NOT willing to do the test. The Count and I felt Twink had not been home long enough for her to adjust. We did have the test schedule when she was home for about 9 months. Well as the Lord would have it we had to cancel due to lack of insurance coverage for the doctor who performed the test. I originally wanted to wait one full year for Twink to be tested. As it turned out when we reschedule it was schedule for January of 09! Just a little over a year of Twink enter into our family.

Twink's test today determined she is NOT autistic! She does not even fall on the spectrum. :) I do believe she has some sensory issues but we can handle whatever those obstacles are.

My advise to all of you adopting children from other countries and your put in a similar situation would be to wait! Why test the in the first few months of being home? Stand firm! Give the child a chance to adjust to a totally different life. Let the child blossom in your care and you'll be amazed at the difference. Now I'm not saying that ALL children will be as lucky as Twink was but I do believe MOST will be. So we are so extremely happy to have finally gone to this doctor and to have left with some good news and not another referral! :)
